I personally lead the inquiry and client relationship. Appropriate specialist and technical capabilities are assembled around the work when required.

EVO is an independent Research & Development laboratory created and operated by me, Jessica Chelmis. I investigate difficult company problems, design custom solutions, and can carry worthwhile work through prototype, implementation and measurement.
Jessica investigates, architects, prototypes, implements and measures. EVO is not limited to publishing research.
You do not need to know what should be built. Start with what is on your mind.
EVO is not an AI automation agency. AI and automation are capabilities, never assumed answers.
Jessica says when deeper expertise is required and assembles appropriate specialists where justified.
How should multiple intelligences be composed?
QUESTION · EXPLORING
Silence is a valid output.

Intelligent Interruption / Ambient Voice
EXPERIMENT · TESTING
A living body of inquiry.
Every observation, question, experiment and discovery is a node. Follow the relationships. Fall down the rabbit hole.
Constraint Interrogation
The constraint was treated as a fixed property of the problem.
Ask what architecture made the constraint appear inevitable.
What becomes possible if the constraint is redesigned?
Every idea has a status.
Questions, observations, hypotheses and experiments remain distinguishable as the work develops.
No single intelligence wins.
The laboratory starts with the problem and assigns each consequential boundary to the capability it actually requires.
COMPOSED AROUND
THE PROBLEM
Inquiry that can change its mind.
Three substantial works develop the Field’s central questions. Each preserves uncertainty, competing interpretations, falsification conditions and an explicit next test.
The Architecture of Intelligence
Why AI-native architecture is a problem of composition, relationships and legibility—not maximization.

From uncertainty
to operational reality.
EVO does not merely study difficult problems. When an investigation identifies something worth building, the laboratory can help make the solution real—and then measure whether it actually worked.
The implementation follows the diagnosis—not the other way around.- 01→RESEARCH
Understand it
Interrogate the problem, its context, its constraints and the evidence beneath the current explanation.
- 02→ARCHITECTURE
Design it
Define the system, decision boundaries, intelligence, interfaces and specialist capabilities the solution requires.
- 03→PROTOTYPE
Prove it
Build the smallest consequential expression of the idea and expose it to reality before larger investment.
- 04→IMPLEMENTATION
Make it operational
Translate the proven architecture into working agents, intelligent workflows, integrations, software and operating systems.
- 05MEASUREMENT
Find out whether the hypothesis was right
Observe performance, consequences and failure signals—then refine, redirect or stop with evidence.
EVO may work across the complete lifecycle or enter at the stage the problem actually requires. Some problems need research before building. Some require a prototype before investment. Others are sufficiently understood to move directly into architecture and implementation.
Where implementation is appropriate, EVO can develop agentic AI automations, intelligent workflows, integrations, prototypes and operating systems. EVO does not presume that one person holds every engineering specialty: where deeper capability is required, the laboratory may architect the solution and assemble the appropriate specialist expertise.
I’m interested in the problem before I’m interested in the solution.
I built EVO as a place to investigate questions that do not fit neatly inside a department, software category or familiar playbook.
If something important in your organization feels expensive, unusually complex or stubborn—and you are not yet sure whether the answer involves architecture, people, software, AI, economics or something else—you do not need to categorize it before writing to me.
Tell me what is happening. I’ll listen, question the assumptions around it, and determine whether there is something here worth investigating together.

You don't need to know exactly what you're looking for. It might be a problem, an idea, something you're trying to build, something about the business that feels harder than it should, or simply a possibility you've been thinking about.
